Terms of Use

These terms set the conditions for using Needham Residents Directory. By using the directory, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Nature of the Directory

Needham Residents Directory is a privately operated reference. It describes and links to public rolls, indexes, and collections relating to Needham, Massachusetts. It does not host government records and has no affiliation with a Town of Needham office, Norfolk County department, court, library, or records custodian.

2. Permitted Use

Use the directory only for lawful purposes. Neither it nor information reached through it may be used to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person
  • Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit identity theft or fraud
  • Make FCRA-regulated decisions (credit, employment, tenant, insurance)
  • Scrape, copy, or republish the site's content at scale
  • Interfere with the site's operation or security

3. No Consumer Reporting Service

The directory is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Nothing here, including results from a linked search tool, is a consumer report. It may not be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or any other FCRA-regulated purpose.

4. Third-Party Resources

Government portals and third-party services, including sponsored search tools, operate under their own terms and policies. The directory does not control their content, availability, pricing, or data practices.

5. No Warranties

The directory is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. It does not promise that information is accurate, complete, or current, or that a linked portal will remain available or produce a particular result.

6. Limits of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the directory’s operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of the directory or a linked resource, including decisions based on records obtained there.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold the directory’s operators harmless from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, that arises from misuse of the directory or a violation of these terms.

8. Intellectual Property

The directory’s original text, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Links and brief attributed quotations are welcome. Republishing full pages or systematically copying content is not permitted.

9. Changes to Terms

These terms may be revised by posting an updated version here. Continued use after that posting constitutes acceptance.

10. Restricting Access

Access may be blocked or restricted, without notice and at the operators’ discretion, for a violation of these terms or abuse of the directory.

11. Governing Law

Massachusetts law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Access to Massachusetts public records is separately governed by M.G.L. c. 66, § 10, 950 CMR 32.00, and the exemptions in M.G.L. c. 4, § 7(26); those laws do not turn this private directory into a records custodian.

12. Severability

If a provision of these terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.

13. Questions
